was walking past the cycad out the front of our house when this tiny critter was spotted. at only about 3mm long, I had to get right in there with the tripod and the macro as close as possible, set on manual focus and flash, iso at 640 as the sunlight had all but disappeared.
I achieved this shot by shining a blue light in front of the subject as the shutter was open.

Found this guy in the garden this afternoon while I was watering. You have to admit – kind of looks like a Star Wars character you might find lurking in the shadows of the Mos Eisley Cantina…
Had 3 good shots of this girl, was a really hard decision which one to choose, so why not all of ‘em.
Been a while since I got good shots of my little 8-legged friends, this is a species of wolf spider – commonly found in gardens, non-aggressive, they are hunters, which means they don’t make webs.
